An Alberta resident has been fined $1,500 for hunting-related offences.
Dustin Gamble of Calgary pleaded guilty to three charges of making a false statement on a Ministry of Natural Resources resident hunting licence application.
He was fined $500 for each offence.
Court heard that after Gamble moved from Dryden to Calgary, he used false information to continue buying an Ontario resident hunting licence, which he used to hunt both deer and moose in Ontario.
At the same time, he used his Alberta resident hunting licence to hunt in his home province.
Justice of the Peace Marcel Donio heard the case Oct. 18 in Dryden.
To buy an Ontario resident hunting licence, your primary residence must be in Ontario, and you must have lived in Ontario for at least six-consecutive months during the 12 months immediately before you apply for a licence.
