Fort Frances Lakers’ forward Jordan Larson has been rewarded for the red-hot start to his rookie SIJHL season.
The 16-year-old earned the league’s player-of-the-month award for his play in October and the last two weeks of September.
The Fort Frances native racked up a league-best 31 points over that span, netting 15 goals and adding 16 assists.
Heading into this weekend’s road games against the Wisconsin Wilderness and Duluth Clydesdales, Larson currently leads the SIJHL in scoring and tops all skaters in goals (18), assists (16), and points (34).
Larson has recorded 10 multi-point games so far, and only has been held off of the scoresheet twice during the campaign.
He currently is riding a seven-game point streak, with 13 points in that span, and also has played a key role in the Lakers sitting atop the standings.
Larson, the first Laker to earn a player-of-the-month nod since Tyler Stevenson took home the award last October, will be recognized at a future game.
He will be presented with a gift pack courtesy of Sportop Marketing, which sponsors the award.
