After battling to a 2-2 tie against the host Dryden Paper Kings to open their season the weekend prior, the Fort Frances PeeWee ‘AA’ Canadians got the upper hand in a rematch Sunday afternoon at the Ice For Kids Arena here.
Noah Loveday found the back of the net to complete a nice passing play at the start of overtime to give the locals a 4-3 victory in what had been a speedy, back-and-forth affair.
Even though numerous Canadians had chances to light the lamp, Cole Tymkin was the sharpest shooter for the home side as he bagged a hat trick in the victory.
Next up for the Canadians will be another trip to Dryden next weekend, where they will be taking part in the Dryden Minor Hockey Association’s PeeWee ‘AA’ tournament.
