Members of the Rainy River District OPP detachment conducted several Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) checks over the holiday weekend as part of “Operation Impact.”
At around 2:40 a.m. on Sunday, officers were investigating a mischief to property when a vehicle drew their attention.
As a result of an investigation, a 20-year-old Fort Frances male was charged with operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol level over 80 mg.
He is scheduled to appear in court here Nov. 14.
Around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, a vehicle approached a R.I.D.E. check. As a result of an investigation, a 22-year-old Fort Frances male was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance and operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol level over 80 mg.
He is scheduled to appear in court here Dec. 12.
Meanwhile, the 26-year-old passenger, also from Fort Frances, was charged for having liquor in an open container.
And around 10:40 a.m. on Saturday, a vehicle approached a R.I.D.E. check. As a result of an investigation, a 47-year-old Fort Frances male was charged with operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol level over 80 mg.
He is scheduled to appear in court here Dec. 12.
The 45-year-old female passenger in the vehicle also was charged with a seatbelt violation.
In related news, more than a dozen motorists were charged with speed-related offences across the district.
As well, three drivers were charged with driving while suspended.
