Dear editor:
I want to thank both writers for responding to the letter I wrote that was published on Sept. 14.
However, there are some clarifications that need to made. First, I feel neither writer would have had a problem if I supported their candidate, and that pretty much everybody in Canada has an opinion on Barack Obama.
Second, the reason why I brought up Jesse Ventura is because he is the most well-known candidate from the Independence Party—and that party still runs candidates who are not professional wrestlers and are more likely to take votes from Democrats than Republicans.
Even last year, their gubernatorial candidate took 12 percent of the vote and they are running candidates in two Minnesota state senate byelections on Oct. 18.
I think the last thing Liberals and NDP voters in Ontario want is a Tim Hudak majority government, and it was quite obvious when I was in town on Saturday that the Kenora-Rainy River election is a two-party race just by looking at the signs in people’s yards.
So my advice to moderate and centre-left voters is to unite behind the NDP’s Sarah Campbell because a vote for Anthony Leek will be a vote for Hudak.
