Minor injuries in gravel truck roll-over

the OPP

Rainy River District OPP responded to the report of a vehicle roll-over on Highway 11 near Nighswander Road in Chapple Township yesterday.
Police and ambulance attended the scene.
An investigation revealed a gravel truck had been dumping its load into a spreading machine within the highway construction zone just west of Rainy River First Nations.
When its contents were emptied onto the highway, a burst of wind caught the dump truck and tipped the vehicle over onto its side, catching the spreading machine as it went over.
One driver received minor injuries as a result of the incident.
The OPP consulted with the Ministry of the Labour during the course of the investigation.
Police have concluded their investigation with no further action required at this time.
Tow trucks were on the scene yesterday afternoon in order to remove the vehicles, resulting in minor delays for motorists.
