A candidate for the Northern Ontario Heritage Party has thrown her hat into the provincial election ring.
Charmaine Romaniuk of Kenora filed her papers to run for the Kenora-Rainy River riding yesterday at the Fort Frances Elections Ontario office.
Romaniuk is a 26 year-old Métis student currently studying anthropology at Lakehead University.
Most recently, she completed a field school in Archaeology removing artifacts located within the route of the highway expansion happening north-east of Thunder Bay.
She also sits on the Lake of the Woods Museum board and municipal heritage board.
Also officially filing her papers to run this weekend at the Fort Frances office was NDP candidate, Sarah Campbell.
Voters head to the polls Thursday, Oct. 6.
