More names are being thrown in the Kenora-Rainy River riding ring for this fall’s provincial election.
Kenora Coun. Rod McKay has announced his intentions to run for the Progressive Conservatives—the only person who has sought the party’s nomination so far.
Meanwhile, Jo Jo Holiday once again will be running for the Green Party, having also ran in the 2007 provincial election.
She also was the Green Party candidate in the 2008 federal election in the Kenora riding.
As expected, Emo Coun. Anthony Leek was acclaimed last Wednesday evening by the local Liberal riding association as its candidate in the Oct. 6 election.
Meanwhile, with longtime NDP MPP Howard Hampton having announced he’s not seeking re-election, two candidates have stepped forward to vie for the party’s nomination.
They include Sarah Campbell of Oxdrift, who has worked for the past eight years in Hampton’s constituency office in Dryden, and Kenora lawyer Robert Sinding.
