Those wanting to support one man’s crusade against prescription fees should keep an eye open for district resident Bruce Bellamy at the Canada Day parade here July 1.
Bellamy, who will be carrying a “Nature & Science” sign in the parade, said he has begun a campaign against prescription fees.
He also has started a petition for parade-goers to sign.
Bellamy said he wants to fight against poverty, and would like to see the elimination of $2 prescription fees.
That may not seem like much to some, but Bellamy said it really adds up for those with more than one prescription and those on a fixed income.
The petition will be sent onto local elected provincial and federal representatives.
“I think it’s time we fought back,” Bellamy remarked.
