The annual T.O.P.S. Salad Supper held Monday (May 30) once again was an enjoyable and successful evening.
About 150 people attended, with four lucky ones taking home prizes.
The adult door prize (a hanging basket donated by Greensides store) was won by Angele Robichaud while Darius Smith took home the children’s door prize.
Dot Cupp won the food hamper, with Albert Leek pocketing $147.50.

The Devlin-La Vallee cemetery committee will hold its annual spring work bee at the Devlin, Burriss, and Box Alder cemeteries this Saturday (June 4) beginning at 9 a.m.
A load of black dirt will be delivered to all three sites so please bring along your hoes, rakes, etc.
As well, seniors may need help to fix up grave sites.

A wedding shower for Christina McCoy was attended by family and friends at the Super 8 Motel in Fort Frances on Saturday afternoon.
Christina, the daughter of Diane McCoy, will marry Clarence Chong on Oct. 8 in Hawaii.

The Township of La Vallee has hired Kayla Benjamin and Chris Mutz as its summer students for 2011.

The annual Young Women’s Conference was held this past weekend at the Luther Village on Highway 71 north of Sioux Narrows.
Some 47 girls from across the district participated in leadership workshops from a variety of presenters, with Crossroads School being represented by Jaymee Fiset and Elizabeth Allan.
Both represented their school in an outstanding manner and felt they learned a lot from attending the conference.

The 50/50 draw held at the Emo Legion on Friday night was won by Shane McDonald, who pocketed $824.50. Lois Shine sold the winning ticket.
