Waiting for answers

Upon reading Mr. Belluz’ letter to the editor in the April 13 edition of the Times, it struck me that most of the initiatives he cited were from provincial origins.
However, it was extremely interesting that Mr. Belluz could recount so many accomplishments to take credit for. It made me think that perhaps he could now search his memory and inform us of the most recent (or perhaps I should say the last) thing the previous board did: the increase of the severance package for senior administration.
The taxpayers of the Rainy River and Atikokan district are owed an explanation for that. There were a few questions directed at the previous board by me at the board meeting on April 5.
Since you now have found your public voice, perhaps you could offer your reasons for not reporting sooner as to the missing funds at FFHS and, subsequently, the increase in the severance package.
The questions posed at the last board meeting in April, 2011 will not go away.
Ms. Heyens and Mr. Belluz, as members of the previous board, you should be able to enlighten the ratepayers as to what took place in-camera to bring about that increase. Why were you so bent on keeping us in the dark about it?
Your question as to “what has the ‘new’ board done in the last five months for students” is rather laughable. Aren’t you and Marg Heyens also trustees on the new board?
Were it not for the severance package being increased, and the foot-dragging on the missing funds at FFHS, the new board would be able to direct all of its energy towards the students and furthering their education.
We are waiting for answers!
