Taylor, Stromberg enjoy golden meet

Fort Frances Aquanauts Donovan Taylor and Adam Stromberg were untouchable at the Division III provincial team championships in Thunder Bay over the weekend.
Both earned five gold medals each to help the club to a ninth-place showing overall.
Taylor, competing in the boys’ 15 and over age division, struck gold in the 200m I.M., the 200m back, the 100m fly, the 200m free, and the 400m I.M.
Stromberg’s five golds, which came in the boys’ 11-12 division, occurred in the 100m free, the 200m breast, the 200m free, the 100m breast, and the 50m free events.
Levi Rittau, meanwhile, bagged three medals on the weekend in the boys’ 13-14 age group, winning silver in the 200m and 50m free events, along with a bronze in the 100m free.
Regan Danylchuk nabbed silver in the girls’ 11-12 200m I.M. to go along with a bronze-medal showing in 50m free.
Rounding out the medalists for the Aquanauts were Sarah Rittau, who won silver in the 10 and under girls’ 50m free, and Lyndsi Jo Wilson, who captured bronze in the girls’ 11-12 100m back.
The Kenora Swimming Sharks led the 19-team field with 578.5 total points for the weekend.
