Ontario students, who hope to find a summer job they love, will have a chance to be their own boss this summer thanks to the “Summer Company” program.
“Summer Company” is a unique program that assists young entrepreneurs, aged 15-29, with starting and running their own eight- to 12-week business over the summer.
The program provides practical, hands-on business training, mentoring, and the essential business skills they need to thrive.
Students can receive up to $1,500 at the start, and up to an additional $1,500 on successful completion of the program.
The application deadline is May 9.
Types of businesses started have included retail sales, food manufacturing, youth day camps, fitness, music lessons, photography, construction services, graphic design, and landscaping.
“Summer Company” is an Ontario government program facilitated locally by the Northwest Business Centre.
