Eleven members of the Northwest Taekwondo Club attended the Can-Am Games tournament in Winnipeg on Saturday.
The tournament was hosted by Kang’s Academy and held at the University of Manitoba.
Competition came from Minnesota, Ontario, Manitoba, and Alberta.
Students competed in forms and full-contact fighting (head and chest protectors are worn).
In forms, Joelle Tibbs (yellow belt) won gold while Larry George (green belt, blue stripe) and Carson George (green belt, blue stripe) earned bronze medals.
In full-contact fighting, Corey Fehr (second-degree black belt), Everett Bannon (blue belt), Desmond Grant (yellow belt), and Larry George all won silver.
Matthew Grant (yellow belt) took home bronze.
