After taking more than a year to record his first win on the ARCA circuit, Fort Frances driver Steve Arpin needed only five days to earn his second.
Arpin captured his second-straight race Friday night, taking the checkered flag at the Rattlesnake 150 despite starting 22nd.
Since Thursday afternoon’s qualifying run was rained out, starting positions were set by 2009 owner’s points, which dropped Arpin all the way down.
The win also gave Arpin the circuit’s points lead with 865, just ahead of Justin Marks (855).
Arpin took the lead on Lap 92 and led the rest of the way, holding off runner-up Craig Goess by 0.326 seconds.
Before Friday night’s race, Arpin received even more good news as JR Motorsports announced he will be racing their #7 car for two races, beginning with the Aaron’s 312 at Talladega Speedway on Saturday (April 24).
The second one is the Bubba Burger 250 at Richmond International Speedway on April 30.
