Breakfast tickets selling well

With only one week to go until the Fort Frances Kiwanis Club’s annual Good Friday breakfast, those who plan to get tickets had better act fast.
Kiwanian Dr. Robert Lidkea said tickets, which cost $8 each and are available at Lidkea Optometry, have been selling well.
Only about 25-30 tickets are left. And because Dr. Lidkea has to let La Place Rendez-Vous know exactly how many people are coming next Tuesday (March 30), tickets only will be sold until then (if they don’t sell out before that).
The buffet breakfast actually is valued at $16, but the Rendez-Vous knocks $4 off the price and the club then subsidizes $4 so people can enjoy it at half price—a sort of thank you from the Kiwanis for the community’s support throughout the year.
This year’s breakfast will start at 8 a.m. at the Rendez-Vous.
Pastor Ken Johnson of the Evangelical Covenant Church will be the guest speaker while the “Fort Harmonies,” a choir led by Diane Maxey, will provide the music.
Dr. Lidkea said the purpose is to celebrate Good Friday in a spirit of unity, and stressed everyone is invited to the non-denominational event.
The event began here back in 1994 by Kiwanis past governor Ken Koprowski, and has grown to be extremely popular.
Last year’s breakfast saw more than 150 people attend.
