The Boston Pizza Royals PeeWee ‘AA’ hockey team returned home from the PeeWee Classic tournament in Regina, Sask. this past weekend with a 2-2 record.
The Royals opened round-robin action Thursday by defeating the Airdrie Lightning 6-2.
Friday started with a 6-0 shutout over the Regina Blackhawks.
They later went on to play the Prince Albert NAPA Ice and found themselves falling to a 6-2 loss.
With a 2-1 record, the Royals ended round-robin play second in their pool, which meant they were headed to the ‘B’-side quarter-finals on Saturday morning.
The Royals fell 5-3 loss to the Clavet Cougars in quarter-final action, putting them out of the 32-team tournament.
The Boston Pizza Royals ended up with a 15th-place finish overall.
