A Fort Frances man is dead following a head-on collision involving two snowmobiles last night.
Aaron Hyatt, 33, was killed when his snowmachine collided with a second snowmachine around 8:30 p.m. on a trail north of School Road and south of Highway 11 at Couchiching First Nation, Fort Frances OPP reported late this morning.
A female passenger, along with the male driver of the second snowmachine, were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
A post-mortem had been scheduled for today at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.
Fort Frances OPP continue to investigate the accident.
It was not known as of press time today whether any charges are pending.
OPP officers and the Treaty #3 Police Service, along with Fort Frances Ambulance and Fire Department, responded to the scene.
An OPP Northwest Region technical traffic investigator and the Forensic Identification Unit assisted investigators at the scene, police added.
