Just in time for those doing their Christmas shopping, the Riverside Foundation for Health Care is hosting a “Bake Sale Extravaganza” this Sunday (Dec. 6) from 2–5 p.m. at the Little Beaver Snow Park lodge (near the dump).
Similar to last year’s “Up Scale Bake Sale,” the fundraiser mainly will feature homemade baking specially-packaged for gift-giving.
With Christmas coming up fast, these are especially good gifts for co-workers, teachers, and other gift exchanges that are common at this time of year.
“We hope to see lots of people come out to shop a little [or a lot] and visit with friends in a relaxed atmosphere,” Foundation director Teresa Hazel noted yesterday, adding the special events committee members will be very busy tomorrow getting everything packaged and decorated for Sunday.
Admission is a silver collection.
There also will be a penny table, as well as complimentary refreshments and seasonal snacks.
Last year’s “Up Scale Bake Sale” raised $2,000 for the tubs and lift chairs needed at Rainycrest Long-Term Care here.
All proceeds from this year’s event will be used to purchase medical equipment for La Verendrye Hospital, the health centres in Emo and Rainy River, and Rainycrest.
