The Fort Frances Times is now featuring readers’ photos online and district residents are invited to submit their photos to share.
“It’s just another way to share within the community,” noted Times’ office manager Linda Plumridge, explaining The Weather Network has a similar feature on its website where people can submit photos they take.
“We want to show interesting things that take place,” added Times’ publisher Jim Cumming, noting this can range anywhere from family events and club activities to photos of wildlife and nature.
Other types of photos the Fort Frances Times would be able to highlight in the “Readers’ Photos” section of the website simply could be children playing, school concerts, organizations presenting cheques, or seasonal activities like sleigh rides or skating.
To upload photos, visit the Times’ website (fftimes.com) and scroll down to the “Submit Your Photos Online” icon.
From there, you can provide a title for your photo, along with the location and description of the event.
A name and e-mail address are required, although these will not be shared or distributed.
If the editorial staff is impressed with any of the photos submitted, they may contact the contributor for permission to print them in the Fort Frances Times.
The photos size cannot exceed 4MB and pictures of an inappropriate manner will not be accepted.
Submitted photos then can be viewed by clicking on “Readers Photos” under the quicklinks menu on the right-hand side of the website.
