Muskie boys stay perfect

It was more third-period magic for the Muskie boys’ hockey team Tuesday night in Dryden.
The Muskies caught fire in the final 20 minutes, scoring four times to come away with a 6-3 victory over the Eagles in NorWOSSA action.
The last time the two teams met, Matt DePiero provided the game-winner with one second to go for a 3-2 Muskie victory in the gold-medal game at a pre-season tournament in Morden, Man, two weeks ago.
There wasn’t that level of suspense this time around, but Fort High again did its best work with the game on the line to improve to 4-0 and sit in first place in the NorWOSSA standings.
Brendan Cawston, Jeff Cridland, Nathan Calder, Devon Ball, Davis Smith, and Donovan Cousineau collected goals for the black-and-gold, who passed their first road test of the regular season after opening with three-straight wins at home.
Wes Brown earned the win in goal.
The Muskies now travel to Detroit Lakes, Mn. for a two-day tournament beginning tomorrow.
Their next league action is slated Tuesday (Dec. 1) at 7:15 p.m. at the Ice For Kids Arena against the Eagles.
