The Fort Frances Lakers wouldn’t settle for being bucked off this time around.
The squad used a balanced scoring attack to upend the host Spooner Mustangs 4-1 on Friday night.
Fort Frances (4-8-2) got goals from Mike Jourdain, Sacha Alaby, Colton Kennedy, and Ben Hilborn to earn the victory.
Kennedy now has 11 tallies to lead the team.
It was a revenge win for the Lakers, who fell 5-2 to the Mustangs in Spooner back on Sept. 30, and made Fort Frances victorious in two of its last three SIJHL outings.
The Lakers will be back in action tomorrow night (Nov. 3) at the Ice For Kids Arena at 7:30 p.m. in the first of what will now be a home-and-home series with the Sioux Lookout Flyers.
The contest here is a make-up game from a previous meeting that was postponed earlier this season.
The second clash in the two-game set will take place Wednesday in Sioux Lookout.
The Flyers (7-8) are coming off a 7-1 thrashing at the hands of the league-leading Fort William North Stars on Friday.
They currently hold a four-point lead over Fort Frances in the race for third place in the SIJHL.
