During this ’flu season, Riverside Health Care Facilities, Inc. is reminding the public of the following precautionary measures in place for La Verendrye Hospital and the health centres in Emo and Rainy River:
•Do not escort patients to the emergency department (drop off and wait outside of the hospital unless the patient is a minor or needs assistance);
•If you have mild ’flu-like symptoms and no underlying medical conditions, the most important thing that can be done to prevent others from being infected is to stay at home;
•Do not visit if you are feeling unwell;
•No visitors under the age of 18 will be permitted; and
•Remember to wash your hands frequently, sneeze into your sleeve, and keep common surfaces disinfected.
