The Fort Frances Lakers’ home-ice woes continued Tuesday night with an 8-0 loss to the visiting Dryden Ice Dogs.
The Lakers fell to 0-6-1 at the Ice For Kids Arena and 3-8-2 overall.
Chad Liley led the barrage with a pair of goals.
Liley was named the SIJHL’s player of the week yesterday after tallying nine points in three games since being re-acquired from the Upper Canada Patriots of the Central Junior Hockey League for future considerations.
Kevin Burton, Mike Lennon, Brendan Church, Tanner Harms, Jon Mitchell, and Kyle Heck also tallied for the visitors.
The Ice Dogs (11-1) went 3-for-4 with the man advantage while holding the Lakers scoreless in six power-play chances.
T.J. Pocock’s first start as a Laker lasted one period as he gave up three goals on 18 shots.
Peter Emery earned the win between the pipes for the Ice Dogs.
Dryden now has won nine-straight games to move them into a tie for top spot with the defending champion Fort William North Stars.
The Lakers next travel to Spooner, Wis. to take on the Mustangs tomorrow night, then will return to the Ice For Kids Arena next Tuesday (Nov. 3) for a make-up game against the Sioux Lookout Flyers.
