Dear Mike:
We would like to respond to JoAnne Formenek Gustafson’s letter to the editor in Friday’s Daily Bulletin regarding our phone line when she inquired about the abandoned puppy.
Unfortunately, the Ontario SPCA no longer is servicing our area, which has resulted in an overwhelming number of animal cruelty and abandonment calls left on our voice-mail system.
It was this overload of calls that caused the problem with our recorded message.
We do apologize for this inconvenience.
As volunteers, we are doing our best to deal with this crisis situation. Your patience and understanding is much appreciated.
