Pole qualifying for the Racing for Wildlife 200 ARCA RE/MAX Series race was postponed yesterday due to rain, meaning today’s starting grid is set based on car owners’ points.
As such, Fort Frances native Steve Arpin will line up in 13th position at the Michigan International Speedway for the eighth race of the 21-race schedule.
Yesterday’s cancelled session marked the four-consecutive race [Kentucky, Toledo, Pocono, and Michigan] that qualifying has been rained out—the first time that’s happened in the 57-year history of the ARCA RE/MAX Series.
The Racing for Wildlife 200 is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. (CDT), which will be carried live on the Speed Network.
The 25-year-old Arpin currently sits 10th in the ARCA points standings with 1,240. His teammate, Justin Lofton, leads the pack with 1,740.
Parker Kilgerman is second (1,645) while Frank Kimmel rounds out the top three (1,530).
