Press Release
RBC Financial Group is partnering with the Riverside Foundation for Health Care again this year for its third-annual RBC Charity Golf Classic, which will be held Saturday, July 11 at the Heron Landing Golf Course on Couchiching.
The funds raised are being earmarked for Riverside’s chemotherapy program, a service that is available to all district residents at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances.
“It’s an important cause and it’s a great event,” enthused Heather Johnson, who is branch manager of the RBC in Fort Frances.
Johnson explained staff members volunteer their time to put this event on because they are committed to making a difference in local health care.
“We selected a local cancer program because this illness affects many of our friends, family, and loved ones,” she noted.
“Riverside provides cancer treatment right here in the Rainy River District and we want to do what we can to enhance this service,” she stressed.
Foundation director Teresa Hazel is pleased to be working with RBC Financial Group for a third-consecutive year.
“It’s a first-class golf tournament and we really do have a lot of fun,” chuckled Hazel.
“We have had outstanding support from the community the past two years, and we anticipate another successful event this year.”
There are spots available for 144 golfers or 36 teams of four. Individuals are encouraged to sign up and they will be put on a team.
