So far, so good for Josh Strain at the NWOSSAA track and field championships in Thunder Bay.
The Muskie athlete successfully jumped to a height of 1.80 metres in the senior boys’ high jump competition yesterday to claim first place and a berth in that discipline at the all-Ontarios next month in Toronto.
Strain followed that up with a bronze medal in the triple jump with a score of 12.17 metres.
Matthew Kroeker and Matt Broere of Thunder Bay took first and second, respectively, as well as the two OFSAA berths up for grabs.
Strain was set to compete in his final event, the long jump, later today in hopes of qualifying for OFSAA in that event, as well.
Complete results from the rest of the Muskie track team were not available as of press time today.
