The Fine Line Art Gallery’s 2009 spring art exhibit, “Thread,” will kick off tomorrow evening with a mix-and-mingle event.
Fine Line co-op member Jean Richards said that as of yesterday, 25 pieces have come in so far, adding it’s possible more will be submitted as the gallery is prepared for tomorrow’s opening.
“We’ve got a lot of good stuff,” she remarked. “It’s going to be very interesting.
“People have just wonderful imaginations when it comes to this year’s theme,” added Richards, noting entries range from small to large in size, and from photos, pottery, and paintings to pencil sketches and rug hookings.
Tomorrow’s mix-and-mingle will run from 6-9 p.m. at the gallery, which is located at 529 Mowat Ave.
Admission is $5, with the evening also featuring refreshments, a door prize, and voting for a “People’s Choice” award.
The “Thread” exhibit will run through to the end of May.
“Thread” follows the alternating pattern of colours and objects as themes for the annual exhibit.
Last year’s theme was “Think Green” while “Abracadabra” was the theme in 2007.
These were preceded by “Seeing Red” in 2006, “Cup and Dish” (2005), “Out of the Blues (2004), “Wild ’n Woolly” (2003), and “Shades of Yellow” (2002).
