A capacity crowd was on hand Friday night at the Memorial Sports Centre auditorium as the Fort Frances Girls’ Hockey Association capped a successful winter with its awards banquet.
Annalise Hayes was chosen as MVP of the Fort Frances Timbits Novice team, with other awards going to Hailey Tucker (most dedicated), Bryanna Dustin (most improved), and Macey Weir (most sportsmanlike).
The Larry Tucker award for rookie-of-the-year went to Khali DeGagne.
For the Kaeming Esso Atom squad, Alyssa Alderson took home the MVP honours, with the other winners being Sara Jackson (most dedicated), Madison Botsford (most improved), and Sarah Angus (most sportsmanlike).
The other local Atom team, the Rolling Lake Lightning, handed out co-MVP nods to Abby Plourde and Myla Angus.
The other awards went to Emma Noga (most dedicated), Samantha McKinnon (most improved), and Emily Bird (most sportsmanlike).
In the PeeWee division, Doug Kitowski Trucking award winners were Calie Clendenning (MVP), Claire Sandelovich (most dedicated), Kassidy Ogden (most improved), and Sarah Milling (most sportsmanlike).
The Super 8 MVP award winners were Amber Jourdain (MVP), Abbi Perreault (most dedicated), Abbey Calder (most improved) and Madisyn DeGagne (most sportsmanlike).
The Lakewood Tire Eagles award winners were Jessica Coran (MVP), Mallory Payne (most dedicated), Lena Morelli (most improved), and Hannah McLeod (most sportsmanlike).
Sarah Milling was named MVP of the Nor-Fab Flames PeeWee rep team, with the other winners being Madisyn DeGagne (most sportsmanlike), Calie Clendenning (most improved), and Claire Sandelovich (most dedicated).
In the Bantam division, BDO Stars award winners were Bridget Jorgenson (MVP), Taylor Swire (most improved), Chantal Jodoin (most dedicated), and Kennedy Kellar (most sportsmanlike).
The Pinewood Blades, meanwhile, named Taylor Dixon and Shae-lynn Smith as co-MVPs, with the other award winners being Jessica Robinson (most dedicated), Shai-lynn Loyie (most improved), and Sydney Jones (most sportsmanlike).
The Energy Fitness Wild award winners were Dana Cridland (MVP), Alyssa Penner (most dedicated), Paige Silver (most improved), and Emily Drouin (most sportsmanlike).
Shae-lynn Smith was named MVP of the Leafs’ Bantam rep team, with the other award winners being Dana Cridland (most dedicated), Sydney Jones (most improved) and Taylor Dixon (most sportsmanlike).
And in the Midget division, the Pharmasave Wildcats award winners were Janel Barker (MVP), Katrina Wreggitt (most dedicated), Jessica Badiuk (most improved), and Bailey Langford (most sportsmanlike).
