It seems the annual “Old Bags Lunch” hasn’t gotten “old.”
Tickets are selling steadily for this third-annual fundraising event put on by the Riverside Foundation for Health Care.
The event takes place Saturday, April 4 at noon at the Fort Frances High School.
Tickets cost $15 each, which are available at the 364 Store, or by calling Joan Allison at 274-9484 or the Foundation office at 274-4803.
Paid tables of eight will be reserved.
The theme of the fundraiser is “bags.” From bag lunches to bag-themed entertainment, the afternoon will be filled with lots of fun and entertainment.
Allison, who chairs the Foundation’s special events committee, said she already has more than 200 bags for this year’s event.
“We have bags coming in from people nearby and faraway . . . California, Virginia, Mn., Winnipeg, Vancouver, Crane Lake, Dryden, Kenora, and Ingleside, Ont.!”
Allison went on to say there is an amazing assortment of bags.
“We have evening bags, insulated bags, shopping bags, makeup bags, beach bags, wine bags, tote bags, mini bags, hand-made bags, and even some “designer” bags!” she enthused.
Last year’s event, which sold out, raised about $4,000 for district health care.
