The Northwestern Health Unit rescinded the boil-water advisory for the Town of Rainy River late Friday.
Laboratory testing of the town’s water supply no longer indicates the presence of bacteria.
The health unit first issued the advisory on Feb. 27 due to an ongoing problem with turbidity in the water at the water treatment plant.
An engineer then was brought in to look at the problem, compile a report regarding a solution, and submit it to the town.
The town then put together a plan and submitted that to the Ministry of Environment, which has since given the nod to lift the boil-water advisory.
