The Rainy River District School Board will hold its regular monthly meeting tonight at 7 p.m. at Donald Young School in Emo.
Following the meeting of the board’s policy committee back on Feb. 9, there will be a motion tonight for the board to approve the following policies for stakeholder consultation:
•1.40 (policy development);
•1.51 (naming and opening of new or consolidated schools);
•3.05 (principal and vice-principal transfers); and
•3.06 (principal and vice-principal appointments).
If approved, feedback by stakeholders would need to be submitted before March 25.
The board also will be presented a motion to rescind Policy 3.78 (computer/electronic network usage).
As well, a recognition of excellence will be given to Donald Young School and Nestor Falls School for their “Me to We” philosophy and work throughout the year that shows integrity—the theme for March for the board’s “Character in Action” program.
The evening also will include a presentation on the highlights of the board’s literacy projects, such as the Oral Language Project, “Later Literacy,” Student Achievement Teachers, Professional Learning Communities, and Job-Embedded Professional Learning.
