Thanks to winds reportedly gusting up to 100 km/h, Fort Frances residents and those living in the west end of the district briefly had their power knocked out Saturday evening.
But residents east of town had to wait until yesterday afternoon before they could watch Super Bowl pre-game coverage.
Hydro One reported that at 7 p.m. on Saturday, about 1,000 customers at Couchiching, and in Halkirk and Watten townships, lost power after a phase went down on the 115kv circuit supplying the distribution station.
Several crews went off-road to make the repairs, but due to the nature of them, had to wait until first light Sunday morning to do the work, Hydro One reported.
Power was restored around 2 p.m. yesterday.
Meanwhile, some 875 residents of Claxton, Godson, Phillips, and Senn Townships experienced low voltage starting late Saturday afternoon due to equipment being affected by the high winds.
They had full power restored just before 3:30 a.m. yesterday.
