Interested artists, educators, and facilitators are invited to meet at the Fort Frances Museum on Thursday, Nov. 27 at 4 p.m. to establish a committee to facilitate the development of the Community Arts and Heritage Education Project for Fort Frances.
“Following the meetings in the spring of this year, we now have the opportunity to develop three priority projects that Fort Frances would like to work on over the two-year initiative,” museum curator Pam Hawley said.
CAHEP resources have been available in Thunder Bay since 1999 to facilitate and strengthen arts and heritage education programming in the community.
The regional roll-out provides Fort Frances with a unique opportunity to participate, Hawley explained.
The aim is to collaborate in the arts and heritage through creating partnerships, but what’s needed right now is for artists (whether they’re musicians, painters, dancers, photographers, writers, sculptors, etc.), educators, and facilitators to get together and determine what projects to do here, she stressed.
Hawley noted these could be anything from a Ukrainian dance troupe to a seniors’ band.
