The Fort Frances OPP is seeking the assistance of the public to solve the following crimes of vandalism.
On March 15th, 2008 police were called to investigate three reports of vandalism.
In all three incidents, someone smashed the taillights on parked vehicles. The vandalism occurred at the 100 block of Nelson Street, the 700 block of Nelson Street and the 400 block of Nelson Street in the town of Fort Frances.
In other news, please be cautious of fraudulent letters from any businesses offering cheques in exchange for money.
The latest fraudulent scam in the Rainy River District is from Comcast Financial Agency Corporation in Toronto, Ontario.
This fraudulent company is issuing letters to local people requesting they forward $3,980.00 by Western Union money order in exchange for an enclosed cheque of $4,980.00.
The enclosed cheque is not legitimate and police are warning people to not participate in the exchange, as it is a scam.
