Fort Frances OPP is asking for public help in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with a break-and-enter at an Emo residence on Friday night.
Sometime between 10 p.m. and midnight, a male kicked open the door of the residence and confronted the lone occupant before fleeing, police said in a press release late this morning.
The suspect is described a having a medium build, clean shave, with very short brush-cut hair. He was wearing a flannel plaid jacket at the time.
Anyone with information is asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or online at www.tipshelp.com
In addition, police said homeowners should be aware of simple things they can do to keep themselves safe while at home.
Some personal safety tips to consider include:
•Keep doors and windows locked—even when at home.
•Install quality locks—and use them.
•Draw window shades at night, and don’t leave windows open and accessible while you are asleep or away from your home.
•Do not open your door to strangers; verify identification before you allow anyone access to your home.
