The Fort Frances Chiefs Secretariat, in conjunction with Grand Council Treaty #3, is holding a public gathering and ceremony tomorrow to watch and reflect on Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s statement of apology to former students of residential schools.
The “Hope, Honour and Healing” event will take place tomorrow (June 11) from 1:30-3:30 p.m. in the banquet room at La Place Rendez-Vous here.
In addition to the live broadcast of the prime minister’s apology, the event will include participation of elders and First Nations’ leadership, as well as traditional drummers and prayers.
