Dear sir:
I am interested in genealogy and now am doing a family history about my great-great-grandparents, Alexander and Elizabeth (Johnston) McNevin, who emigrated to Canada from Argyllshire, Scotland in 1839.
They first settled in Andrews, Ont., and later lived on a farm in Bagot Township in Renfrew County, Ont.
They had 12 children (seven boys and five girls). One son, named Ronald Johnston McNevin, was born in 1852 and later moved to Rainy River, Ont. and was living there in 1904. He died on Dec. 27, 1924 and was buried in Fort Frances Cemetery.
He had one daughter, who married W.J. Stephenson of La Vallee Municipality.
If any of your readers know any information about this family, I would be very happy to hear from them.
Thank you for taking the time to read my letter.
Sincerely,
Erma J. Francis
