“We have area for people if they want to set up a display on the ice surface,” noted committee member Emily Watson.
“And we are doing health and safety training, so if you have people that need to be trained for an occupation health and safety committee, we are offering those three courses that are required,” she explained.
In addition, there will be training on the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System.
“The Ministry of Transportation is also going to be there and they will be doing the pre-trip inspection training,” Watson said, noting three session will be offered (Thursday at 8:15 a.m., Thursday at 1 p.m., and Friday at 8:15 a.m.)
The Ministry of Labour, the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, the Ministry of Natural Resources, and the OPP will be providing information sessions, as well.
Registration is from 7:30-8 a.m. both days, but those interested can contact Watson at 486-3688 to pre-register. The cost to attend is $25 per person, which includes coffee breaks, lunches, training, and materials.
