Tickets now on sale for DU banquet

With the 25th-annual Ducks Unlimited banquet coming up here in less than a month, now is the time to get your tickets.
The dinner and auction is slated for Friday, May 2 at La Place Rendez-Vous. Tickets cost $50/person or $75/couple, and are available at Cousineau Brokers.
Seating is reserved.
A one-year DU membership, valued at $25, is included in the price.
DU banquet committee member Tyler Cousineau noted those who buy their tickets prior to this Friday (April 11) will be eligible for the early-bird draw for a roller cooler.
This cooler, which can be seen in the front window at Cousineau Brokers, has a 48-can capacity, ultra-thin, lightweight heat-sealed silver insulation, roller wheels, and a telescoping handle.
Cousineau said that, as of Tuesday morning, about 70 tickets are left for the banquet. Seating for the nearly always sold-out event is limited to 200.
The perennially-popular charity dinner raises money in support of the national, private, non-profit organization whose main goal it is to preserve wetlands across Canada.
One of the highlights of the banquet is the slew of auction items that are up for bid each year, and this one is no exception.
Residents can get a closer look at many of these items, which range from wildlife prints to statues to a fur hat made by local resident Bill Mueller, at local businesses and banks.
A total of 30 prints are on display at various locations around town. And this week, Northwoods Gallery & Gifts and McTaggarts are decorating their front windows with auction items.
Last year’s DU banquet here raised $25,758—bringing the total amount raised locally for the organization to nearly $580,160.43 since the inaugural event in 1983.
