Muskies seeded eighth All-Ontarios get underway Wednesday

The Muskie boys’ hockey team has been seeded eighth out of the 20 squads competing at the ‘AAA/AAAA’ all-Ontarios running April 2-5 in Ottawa.
The rankings, released this morning, mean the black-and-gold will play in Pool ‘B’ against four other teams from across the province.
Fort High will open action Wednesday at 11 a.m. (CDT) against the 19-ranked Ancaster Royals of SOSSA (the lowest seed in Pool ‘B’).
The Muskies then will play a pair of games on Thursday, first meeting the ninth-ranked Grand River Renegades of Kitchener (the CWOSSA champs) at 11:15 p.m. (CDT).
Then they’ll be back on the ice at 7 p.m. (CDT) on Thursday to battle the third-ranked Vikings of A.B. Lucas Secondary School (WOSSA), who are the top seed in Pool ‘B.’
Fort High will wrap up pool play on Friday at 7:30 p.m. (CDT) against Ottawa’s John McCrae Bulldogs (NCSSAA), who come into the event ranked 14th.
The top two teams from each pool will advance to the quarter-finals later Friday, with the semi-finals, bronze-medal game, and gold-medal game scheduled for Saturday.
Dunbarton of Pickering, the LOSSA champs, was awarded the top seed in this year’s tournament.
Rounding out the top eight are #2 Denis Morris (SOSSA), #4 St. Peter’s (COSSA), #5 Mayfield (ROPSSAA), #6 Forest Heights (CWOSSA), and #7 Brother Andre (YRAA).
The Muskies are making their fifth-straight appearance at OFSAA.
