Firemen off to nationals

Four men from two district volunteer fire departments are off to the Canadian Firemen’s Curling Championship this week.
The 10-day evening in Richmond, B.C. begins this Friday. “It is set up just like the Brier,” team skip Tim Nordin said Monday.
Teams from all across Canada will be competing for the national title.
Nordin, along with third Dale Morrison, are representing Rainy River’s fire department while Dave Seguin (second) and Dale Ossachuk (lead) are members of Dawson Township’s fire department.
This is the foursome’s second-straight trip to the nationals representing Northern Ontario.
Last year, the rink lost in a tie-breaker that would have seen them advance to the Page playoff round had they won.
They are hoping to improve on that record this time around. They will compete in round-robin play for about a week, with the playoffs starting on Friday, April 4.
