The local Lakewood Tire Eagles under-10 girls’ hockey team participated in a tournament in Hibbing over the weekend and came away with the consolation crown.
The girls opened the tournament with a tough 3-0 loss to International Falls but rebounded that afternoon with a 11-1 win over Grand Rapids, Mn. that propelled them into the consolation final against Mora, Mn.
The local Atoms ended up doubling Mora by a 6-3 score.
The team worked really hard and displayed good sportsmanship throughout the weekend.
The girls, who represented Lakewood Tire and Fort Frances like true ladies, are coached by Tracy Coran, Greg Johnson, and Dan Jean.
