Muskies lose in finale of tourney

The Muskie boys’ hockey team returned from Winnipeg just short of winning the Hill Abra Dewar International Tournament of Champions, falling 3-0 to the St. Paul’s Crusaders in the final yesterday afternoon.
The loss followed a stellar run at the tournament, which the Muskies opened Thursday evening with a 6-2 win over the Oak Park Raiders 6-2, followed by a 5-1 victory against St. Thomas of Villanova, from LaSalle, Ont., on Friday morning.
Fort Frances dumped the Kelvin Clippers 7-2 on Friday night before edging a Shattuck St. Mary’s squad on Saturday that had given the black-and-gold fits during the pre-season, winning by a tight 4-3 score.
The Muskies then earned a berth in the final with a 5-4 squeaker over the St. John’s Ravenscourt Eagles on Saturday night.
Fort High resumes NorWOSSA action tomorrow in Dryden against the Eagles.
Their next home action isn’t until Feb. 8-9 when they host the Red Lake Rams.
