Service planned

Dear editor:
As the days grow shorter and weather turns colder, we are reminded that the holiday season is getting near.
The Rainy River District Palliative Care Volunteers are aware while the holiday season can bring joy and excitement for many people, others find this season bring sad memories and difficult times.
It may seem, at these times, that your grief has overwhelmed you again. This is not abnormal. There are no rules with grief and there is not one right way to cope.
Only you can know what is right for you.
It is especially important to be kind to yourself whenever the wounds are tender. Some find it can be helpful to set aside some special time to acknowledge their loved ones and their memories. Such a time may help soothe the pain and help with the healing.
Our volunteers have arranged a special event which might be helpful. Everyone is invited to attend the Holiday Memorial Service on Saturday, Dec. 1 at 2 p.m. at the Knox United Church hall in Emo.
This will be an opportunity for people to remember loved ones in a special way. Please extend an invitation to any friends or family you feel would like to participate or may benefit from this afternoon.
