Some $20,000 already has been raised for a proposed spray park in Emo.
“We’ll take money from anywhere,” joked Lincoln Dunn, who is spearheading the project.
He had proposed the spray park concept last November.
It’s hoped ground-breaking ceremonies will take place at the Lions Park in Emo this coming May. The cost is estimated to be about $150,000 altogether.
“It’s hard to go into smaller communities who will benefit from the park,” noted Dunn. “We don’t want to take any money from other worthwhile groups, as well.
“Our goal is to be able to . . . break ground as soon as the ground thaws in May so it can be ready for the summer,” he added.
Financial or material support is the aim of the fundraising campaign.
As well, a memorial brick campaign is slated to start next Thursday (Nov. 15). Bricks will be available for purchase for $100, and be part of the park once it opens.
Order forms will be available at the Emo municipal office or online at www.emospraypark.ca
