The 12th-annual NorthShore Inline Marathon took place Saturday in Duluth with a handful of local participants doing their best in the inline skating marathon.
Once again, the event had a field of 4,000 participants ranging from professional to recreational participants.
This full marathon was 26.2 miles, and basically followed the Grandma’s Marathon running route.
Four Fort Frances skaters attended this event.
Ashley Gibbs led the way with a time of 1:59:10, followed by John Young (2:23:59), Bob Tkachuk (2:27:18), and Armand Jourdain Sr. (2:34:33).
In fairness to Jourdain, he had to do some repairs after blowing a wheel at the midpoint of the race.
The NorthShore Inline Marathon boasts on its website that it is the largest inline marathon and American Roller Cup Series event in the U.S.
