The town is directing trucks coming through Fort Frances to continue using Second Street East to help ease downtown traffic flow problems resulting from road construction.
While the town previously said the re-routing would be in effect until Monday (Sept. 17), Operations and Facilities manager Doug Brown reported late this morning that Central Avenue now won’t be open until the second week of October.
As emphasized by the town last month, tractor-trailers passing through town are instructed to stick to Second Street East while trucks bound for the international bridge are directed to use Second Street East and then Mowat Avenue to get there.
Trucks going to the Abitibi mill must use Front Street.
