Skeet shooters wrap up season

The local skeet club enjoyed significantly more numbers than previous years this season.
The shooters, who started in April and concluded in early September, came from many areas to add their touch with the clay targets.
As usual, Len Noonan prevailed with many perfect scores of 25 and a very impressive 74 out of 75.
Other shooters also turned in perfect scores this year, including Rick Johnson and Jeremy McGuire.
Tyler Cousineau was coming on strong at the end of the skeet season, and will be a sure threat to the top guns next year.
The end of the season also marked homage of one of the best shooters the club has ever known, R.J. (Bob) Kennedy.
This was a sport that R.J. had a passion for. He began in his early teens and continued to shoot, with the only interruption being golf, until losing his battle with cancer last year.
You only had to shoot a round with him and he would pass some of his passion on. He was a great mentor and is dearly missed by all his old shooting buddies.
The Kennedy family put together a memorial award (glass etching memorial plaque) to be awarded to the most promising individual demonstrating an outstanding commitment to, and improvement in, the sport of skeet shooting.
Vicki Kennedy presented the award this year to Paul Fischer.
The skeet club prospered this year with a number of new, young shooters with good shots, good times, and good fellowship.
